Biography
ALICIA M. PASSERIN, Ph.D. is a partner in the Intellectual Property and the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Groups of Pietragallo Gordon Alfano Bosick & Raspanti, LLP.
Dr. Passerin focuses her practice on patent prosecution, protection of trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, licensing, opinions and litigation.
Dr. Passerin’s multi-disciplinary background provides her with the ability to counsel clients in the life sciences and in the biotechnical, mechanical, chemical, and software engineering fields.
Dr. Passerin has been in private practice since 2004. Prior to law school, Dr. Passerin was a post-doctoral research associate at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Neuroscience, where her training was in the field of Neurobiology with subspecialty training in the fields of Neuroanatomy, Cardiovascular Physiology, and Immunology.
During law school, Dr. Passerin was an intern for the late Judge Carol Los Mansmann in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and an extern at the University of Pittsburgh Office of Technology Management.
Dr. Passerin is a member of the Pittsburgh Intellectual Property Law Association and is a Barrister and the Mentoring Program Co-Chair in the Q. Todd Dickinson Intellectual Property Chapter of the American Inn of Court. Dr. Passerin serves as the Board President of the Advisory Board of the North Boroughs YMCA. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Animal Care and Assistance Fund.
Dr. Passerin was selected as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2008, 2013, and 2014.
