As founder and managing partner of Haeggquist & Eck, Alreen Haeggquist is on a mission to stand up with individuals to enrich their lives and inspire change by dismantling fear and shame and empowering those who have faced discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, and sexual assault to stand up and demand accountability.

Alreen is a best-selling published author of Fired Up! Fueling Triumph from Trauma, sharing her own personal story of abuse and techniques she used to heal. She shares her path to becoming a lawyer who represents survivors. 

Alreen has received numerous awards, including Top 25 Women San Diego Lawyers and Top 50 San Diego Lawyers. Alreen has received an AV Preeminent rating, the highest peer rating standard bestowed on attorneys by research clearinghouse Martindale-Hubbell, for professional excellence in legal knowledge, skills, and ethics. She is member of the Litigation Section of the State Bar of California, Lawyers Club, Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, Consumer Attorneys of California, the California Employment Lawyers Association, and the San Diego County Bar Association. She has written numerous articles for California Litigation Review relating to recent developments in class action and discovery law, and frequently speaks and lectures on employment law issues.

She graduated third in her class from California Western School of Law, where she was editor-in-chief of the California Western Law Review and the California Western International Law Journal, worked with the California Innocence Project and as an honors instructor for international L.L.M. students, and was on the Dean’s List. She holds a B.A. in political science with minors in law and society and Latin American history from the University of California at San Diego.

Alreen is a founding board member and currently sits on the advisory board of Think Dignity (formerly Girls Think Tank), a grassroots 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire, empower, and organize the San Diego community to advance basic dignity for those facing homelessness.

Alreen’s commitment to equality, respect, and giving a voice to all, despite race, religion, gender, or disability drives her every day to do her very best for each person who entrusts her with that opportunity. She comes from a very large family and treats each one of her clients as an extension of her own and believes each of her clients should have the same quality of representation that she would want for her loved ones.
