Amanda Thompson has more than 17 years of experience assisting foreign nationals and their employers in managing their US immigration and related needs.  As an immigrant herself, she understands the anxiety the immigration process can cause and focuses on providing services that are compassionate, convenient and comprehensive.  

Amanda has extensive experience with both temporary and permanent residence sponsorship by family members, through businesses, and for professionals at all levels of experience. Family-focuses services include K-1 Fiancee visas and permanent residence for spouses of US citizes, and L-1 and permanent residence through family or other "multinational" businesses.  

Amanda's professional immigration services include permanent residence processes using Extraordinary Ability, Outstanding Researcher, National Interest Waiver, Labor Certification and other categories. Her professional clients include professionals from a broad range of environments, including government, academic and corporate facilities, with particular focus on the issues of students, scholars and IT professionals. As a former DSO and Responsible Officer, Amanda has a particular focus on the needs of current and graduating students.  

Amanda Thompson was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.  She immigrated to the US in the late 1990s.  She is licensed to practice law through the State of Maine, and her legal services are limited to U.S. immigration law. She first entered the US in TN status, and held H-1B status before obtaining permanent residence and then citizenship.
