Family & Mediation
Biography
Licensed to practice in D.C. and Maryland, Amanda has over a decade of litigation experience in both state and federal courts. A trained mediator and Collaborative practitioner, Amanda believes that many family matters can be handled outside the courtroom, through mediation, the Collaborative Process, or negotiated settlements and strives to help her clients regain control of often-overwhelming situations and create solutions that work for them. However, there are times when litigation is unavoidable, and Amanda is ready and able to assist her clients through these legally and emotionally challenging times. Regardless of the method of resolution, Amanda takes the time to understand her clients and what they are experiencing, providing them individualized attention and support throughout the process. Amanda's practice includes helping her clients through separation, divorce, child custody, and child support matters. In addition, Amanda assists clients seeking to build their families through adoption and assisted reproductive technology.
Amanda received her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and her B.A., with honors, in psychology from Washington University in St. Louis. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, Maryland State Bar Association, and several professional organizations including D.C. Academy of Collaborative Professionals, International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
