Biography
Amy E. Orlando is an attorney with the Law Offices of Amy E. Orlando, LLC, where she practices in the areas of elder law, special needs, estate planning, estate administration and taxation. She is also an Accredited Attorney and Federal Fiduciary with the Veteran’s Administration.
Amy is on the Board for Planned Lifetime Assistance Network (PLAN) of Connecticut, a non-profit Trustee for Special Needs Trusts and pooled trusts.
Amy is licensed to practice law in the State of Connecticut and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), and is the Vice President of the Connecticut Chapter of NAELA.
She has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the Elder Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA), and also sits on the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the CBA. Amy also serves as the Secretary of the Central Connecticut Business and Estate Planning Council.
Amy teaches classes on elder law and estate planning for various adult education programs in Connecticut, and is a frequent lecturer on topics that include Medicaid, estate planning and elder financial exploitation.
Amy received her law degree Cum Laude, from Suffolk University Law School in Boston.
She is also a graduate Cum Laude with Honors from Wake Forest University where she played goalkeeper for Division I Field Hockey. Prior to attending law school, she worked in Social Services in Virginia and Massachusetts.
