Andrew "Woody" Bougard was born and raised in Jennings, Louisiana. Growing up, he attended Our Lady Immaculate Catholic School and Jennings High School. Upon graduation, he obtained his undergraduate degree from McNeese State University. He then enrolled at the Southern University Law Center, earning his Juris Doctorate.

After law school, he moved back to his hometown of Jennings and started The Bougard Law Office, LLC, while serving as an attorney for the Jefferson Davis Parish Indigent Defender Board. Shortly after, he expanded The Bougard Law Office, LLC to Lake Charles, where the firm has been providing diligent and competent representation ever since.

Currently, he is also an attorney with The Southwest Louisiana Law Center, Inc. and Calcasieu Parish Public Defender's Office, handling family and criminal matters for people of limited means.

In addition to practicing law, he is a member of the Community Foundation of Southwest Louisiana, Fusion Five, West Calcasieu Chamber of Commerce, and The Chamber of Southwest Louisiana. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, where he is also a parishioner.
