Biography
Andrew Garza is a co-founder and trial attorney at Claggett, Sykes & Garza, LLC, in Connecticut. He grew up in public housing, bartended his way through college and law school, and opened his own law firm in 2013. He has tried cases to seven-, eight-, and nine-figure jury verdicts as lead counsel. In 2022, he obtained a $100 million verdict on behalf of a paralyzed man and his wife, which was the largest verdict in Connecticut history. Garza speaks nationally to plaintiff's trial lawyers, provides trial skills training, and enjoys consulting and co-trying high-exposure cases where he specializes in conducting focus groups and implementing Big Data studies.
Garza has been recognized as Lawyer of the Year (New England Legal Awards, 2023); Trial Lawyer of the Year (KTI, 2022); Top 40 Under 40 (Hartford Business Journal, 2023); Super Lawyers (2016 - Present); Best Lawyers in America, Personal Injury Litigation - Plaintiffs (2024 - Present); and is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Outside of work, he enjoys coaching his kids' baseball teams, playing mediocre golf, and working on carpentry projects in his workshop. Andrew is licensed to practice in Connecticut and Massachusetts and lives in Farmington, Connecticut, with his college sweetheart, Jenny, and his three young children.
