Biography
I routinely represent clients in state and federal courts in civil litigation and employment-related litigation and before the U.S. Department of Labor and U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. I also routinely counsels management and executives regarding employment issues including preparation of personnel policies and handbooks; compliance with Title VII, the ADA, FLSA and FMLA and preventing sexual and other forms of harassment. Mr. Cabana has successfully represented parties in litigation involving discrimination, harassment and retaliation; the Employment Retirement Income Security Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the American with Disabilities Act, the False Claims Act, defamation, invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, civil conspiracy and wrongful termination.
Mr. Cabana is admitted to practice before the state and federal courts of the District of Columbia, Maryland and the Commonwealth of Virginia, and he is a member of the American Bar Association, Fairfax Bar Association and The Society for Human Resource Management.
Prior to establishing his firm, Mr. Cabana was an attorney for several years with an AmLaw 100 firm.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Cabana served as a judicial law clerk in the chambers of the honorable Eric G. Bruggink, United States Court of Federal Claims.
