Biography
Barry Spear has been practicing bankruptcy law for over 17 years and has represented debtors and creditors in individual and business cases in all chapters, as well as in a variety of liquidation, insolvency, reorganization and litigation matters. He has been with Boleman Law since 2009, where he works primarily in post-bankruptcy litigation.
Barry served on the Panel of Chapter 7 Trustees for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia from 1999-2008. He was President of the Tidewater Bankruptcy Bar Association for 2008-2009. He has also served as Treasurer and Seminar Chairman as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Tidewater Bankruptcy Bar.
At Washington and Lee University, during his third year, Barry served as a Burks Scholar teaching assistant. Prior to entering private practice, he served as law clerk to the Honorable David H. Adams, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia. Mr. Spear has spoken at numerous seminars on bankruptcy and collection issues.
A native of Maine, Barry currently lives in Williamsburg, Virginia with his wife and two boys. He spends his spare time cheering for his boys in the Williamsburg Youth Baseball All Stars league.
