I'm a creative patent attorney who serves biotech and hi-tech clients in the areas of patent drafting, patent prosecution, and licensing.  My experience in both of these areas allows me to serve clients developing hybrid technologies that combine biology and computer science such as bioinformatics, molecular computing, and synthetic biology.
 
Before law school, I worked in molecular biology laboratories at the University Washington, Children’s Hospital in Seattle, and the Chemo-Sero-Therapeutic Research Institute in Japan. During law school, I interned at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Intellectual Ventures, and Nakamura & Partners in Tokyo.

I am a member of the international practice group at my law firm which provides me with experience in the patent practices of many different jurisdictions including Japan, China, Korea, Europe, Canada, Australia, and India. I have worked in Japan both in legal and scientific roles and an conversant in Japanese.
