Biography
Ben Edlavitch is the founder of Edlavitch Law PLLC. Ben is a USPTO registered patent attorney and electrical engineer concentrating in intellectual property law counseling as well as domestic and international patent prosecution. Ben also counsels on open source software, licensing and complex commercial agreements. Ben assists clients with trade secrets, trademarks, and copyrights as well.
Ben entered the industry as a registered patent agent in 2005 and became an attorney specializing in intellectual property in 2007. Additionally, Ben has over eight years of software development experience and degrees in biology and electrical engineering, which give him a unique technical perspective and allow him to procure patents for many different types of technology. Ben has prepared and prosecuted patents in most areas of engineering and applied science, including inventions in computer science, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, biomedical engineering, food science, systems engineering, and electrical and computer engineering. In the past five years, Ben has serviced clients in the fields of computer hardware and software, telecommunications, medical devices, financial services, farm and construction equipment, food processing, industrial instrumentation, and automation systems.
