I served 5 years in the Marine Corps, including a tour in Iraq. I have nearly 10 years of law enforcement experience and started law school while still working full time as a police officer here in Michigan. While in law school, I interned at the legislature, governor's office as well as for a state circuit court judge and two federal judges on at the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. After graduating law school, I spent two years working at the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office where I handled cases of various complexity from OWI to criminal sexual conduct to complex multimillion dollar fraud cases. I am a licensed real estate agent and officiate high school and college football and basketball.

I have been interviewed by local and national media about topics including Michigan's child protective services policy and practice and a veteran's perspective and reflection 9/11. I also appeared on The Real and Fox and Friends and was featured on CNN, NBC Nightly News, HLN, and other news outlets around the world.
