Biography
Bethany Nikitenko loves practicing law for many reasons, but it is her inherent compassion for people that made this profession her natural calling in life.
Her specialties–standing up for victims’ rights in suits involving medical malpractice, catastrophic automobile accidents, sexual abuse and product liability–are also the areas of law that she finds most meaningful and satisfying, because they involve righting particularly tragic wrongs that have befallen innocent people of all ages and walks of life. Clients appreciate Ms. Nikitenko’s warmth and willingness to listen, ready accessibility and personalized attention as she advocates for them while helping them navigate through unfamiliar legal territory. For her work in these areas, Ms. Nikitenko has been recognized by her peers as a Rising Star by Pennsylvania SuperLawyers in 2014 and 2015.
Since earning her law degree, Ms. Nikitenko has accumulated considerable experience in all phases of litigation. Her skills include drafting motions and pleadings, arguing dispositive motions, representing clients in arbitration and mediation, briefing complex legal issues, conducting and defending depositions, and analysis and implementation of trial strategy.
Recognition for Ms. Nikitenko’s impressive oral advocacy skills while at law school included numerous Distinguished Class Performance Awards for proving exemplary competence in various facets of law. She graduated Cum Laude in 2007 from Temple University's James E. Beasley School of Law, where she was a member of the Temple Law Review. As an undergraduate at University of Pittsburgh she earned the prestigious John P. Bracken Undergraduate Political Science Award for academic achievement and commitment to public service, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2003. Ms. Nikitenko earned a place in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Golden Key Honor Society. Her other accomplishments at the undergraduate level included becoming President of the Students’ Democratic Forum and Diversity Vice President of the University Democrats.
Ms. Nikitenko was licensed to practice law in 2007 in the State Court of Pennsylvania, U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and State Court of New Jersey. She is a member of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, and the Bradeis Law Society. She is on the board of Philadelphia’s Chapter of the American Jewish Committee, and is a member of the Development Committee for Women Against Abuse.
Personal fitness, lifelong learning and religious faith are cornerstones of Ms. Nikitenko’s life. Despite her routine 12-hour workday, she manages to visit the gym almost every day, runs regularly, and participates in the Broad Street Run each year. Her passion for exploring new places and cultures led her to participate in “Semester at Sea,” a shipboard program for global study abroad, while in college.
