Biography
Brandon Schantz is Counsel in the Dallas office of Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors, working remotely from California. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and risk-mitigation counseling.
As a litigator and trusted counselor, Mr. Schantz has represented clients in a broad array of industries, including hospitality, transportation, technology, real estate, manufacturing, global media solutions, finance, consumer goods/services, entertainment, education, and fashion.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Schantz gained significant experience at prominent firms in the United States, Spain, India, and China. For over five years, he also managed his own practice. In that position, he acted as an outside general counsel and litigator who provided results-driven solutions to boards of directors, c-suite personnel, and business owners on a variety of day-to-day operations, litigation, and negotiations.
Mr. Schantz received his Juris Doctor degree from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco. In law school he trained under a decorated former Assistant United States Attorney. He received a Master of Laws in European Union Law and a Certificate of Specialization in European Union and Spanish Antitrust Law from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Madrid, Spain, and a Bachelor of Arts in Law & Society from The American University in Washington, D.C. At American University, he was a member of the men’s varsity crew team.
Mr. Schantz is the current Secretary of the Business Litigation Committee of the California Lawyers Association and a member of the board of directors of the University Club of San Francisco, a historic San Francisco institution founded in 1890. He is a former adjunct professor of litigation at Golden Gate University School of Law.
Mr. Schantz is also a co-founder of the Bernie L. Segal: In Vino Veritas national mock trial competition, which attracts the country’s top litigation programs each fall to its competition in San Francisco. Mr. Schantz remains involved as the host of the competition’s Judges’ Reception.
