Biography
Brian J. Farrar is an experienced trial attorney and civil rights lawyer. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in numerous cases, including allegations of employment discrimination, wage and hour violations, breach of contract, police misconduct, and other civil rights matters. Mr. Farrar has won federal jury trials in New York and Michigan.
In addition to litigation, Mr. Farrar has counseled clients on matters including non-compete agreements, severance packages, and settlement negotiations.
Mr. Farrar is a graduate of the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor and Hofstra University School of Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of International Business & Law. He has published several articles on topics ranging from business law to the rules of evidence.
In 2013, Mr. Farrar was selected to travel to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as a legal observer for the 9/11 military commissions. His article titled, Say What? The Case for Hearsay at the Guantanamo Bay Military Commissions was published in the Michigan State International Law Review.
He is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan, State of New York, U.S. Supreme Court, Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and U.S. District Courts in Michigan and New York.
When he is not practicing law, Mr. Farrar enjoys writing fiction and cheering for the Michigan Wolverines.
