Biography

Brian McGiverin began his career as a civil rights attorney. With the Texas Civil Rights Project, he lead complex litigation in courts across the state, representing students, prisoners, and demonstrators. His cases challenged police abuse, suppression of free speech, and cruel and unusual punishment.

Brian has also been closely involved with several grassroots and community organizations in Austin. He believes deeply in making the world better.

At Dietz, Lawrence & McGiverin, Brian is still working for social justice. He protects the rights of defendants in the criminal justice system, and defends consumers’ rights against debt collectors, foreclosure, and eviction.
