Biography
Brynne L. Howard graduated magna cum laude with a B.A in Political Science and Women’s Studies from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, in 2006. She received her JD from Drake Law School in 2010, graduating with highest honors and as a member of the Order of the Coif.
After graduating from law school, Brynne worked for several years as an immigration attorney with a local nonprofit, Iowa Migrant Movement for Justice (formerly Iowa Justice for Our Neighbors). In 2017, Brynne co-taught Immigration Law 101 at Drake University Law School. She also worked in the Crime Victim Assistance Division of the Iowa Attorney General’s Office and as the Managing Attorney for the Volunteer Lawyers Project at Iowa Legal Aid.
Brynne practices primarily in the areas of Elder Law; Probate; Wills and Trusts; Guardianships and Conservatorships; and Immigration. Brynne is proficient in written and spoken Spanish.
Brynne is currently serving on the Access to Justice Commission of the Iowa Supreme Court. She is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association’s Legal Access and Attorney Wellbeing Committees. Outside the practice of law, Brynne enjoys chasing around her two energetic children, practicing yoga, trying new foods, and traveling in Iowa and beyond.
