Beginning in 2007, I moved to Asheville upon graduating from law school at UNC Chapel Hill and began my legal career.  For almost a dozen years, I worked at two local firms that represented dozens of school systems, community colleges and towns mostly located in Western North Carolina.  In that capacity, I did everything that the clients needed: government law, employment law, corporate law, construction law, administrative/regulatory law and litigation (in state and federal court).  I've represented clients in litigation matters ranging from defending wrongful death and personal injury claims to suing construction companies and large corporations.  In addition, I've represented indivdual clients and small businesses in trust/estate matters, complex business transactions and commerical real estate lease negotiations.

I now focus my legal practice on representing and advocating for individuals.  When I first became an attorney, one of my first cases was a pro bono case where I represented a women who lost everything when her apartment was destroyed in a fire.  When I first met my client, she was broke: both financially and spiritually.  I became her sole advocoate and pursued claims against the landlord and his insurance company eventually securing a good settlement on my client's behalf.  The day I handed my client that settlement check to help her rebuild her life was the day that I truly feel in love with the law.  That passion and awesome responsibility has never left me and I try to bring it with me in every case and matter that I do.
