Charles is licensed to practice in FL, GA, SC and NC. Before going into private practice, Charles clerked for two federal judges. Charles started out clerking for Judge Joseph F. Anderson, Jr. at the United States District Court in Columbia, SC. Thereafter, Charles clerked for Judge David R. Duncan at the United States Bankruptcy Court in Columbia, SC.

Early in Charles' personal injury career, he focused on dental malpractice cases. Charles' father is a renowned dentist and implant surgeon and is a professor at multiple dental schools in the US. Growing up, Charles worked in his father's dental practice and assisted in surgical procedures. Thus, Charles' knowledge in the field of dentistry aided his early years in personal injury law.
