Christine A. Schafer (“Crissy”) the CEO and owner of The Legacy Law Firm. Crissy has always put family first in her personal life. Throughout her younger years, she helped care for her ill grandmother – an experience that exposed her firsthand to years of hospital stays, rehabilitation facilities, at home care visits, Medicare benefits, and the Medicaid application process. During these difficult times her father passed away from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and Pneumonia. Prior to his passing, he had remarried but failed to put a plan in place which would have ensured his estate was handled according to his wishes. Instead, he unintentionally disinherited his children. Crissy’s life experiences are responsible for her decision to become a lawyer. She is now dedicated to helping others avoid mistakes when planning ahead for their areas of expertise include: Revocable Living Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts, Last Will & Testament, Advanced Directives, Medicaid Planning and other important documents related to both Estate Planning and Elder Law.

Crissy has been chosen as an American Bar Association Scholar and is a graduate of Elder College. She has been recognized by Super Lawyers for five consecutive years (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 & 2022) as a Rising Star for exhibiting excellence in her field, a distinction that only 2.5% of attorneys in Florida receive. She has also been selected by her fellow professionals for inclusion in the Florida Trend’s Legal Elite list in both 2020 and 2021, rated as one of three top rated estate planning attorneys by Three Best Rated for three consecutive years (2020, 2021, and 2022) and recognized as one of Fort Lauderdale’s Top Lawyers.
