Biography
Christopher J. Stow is Senior Patent Attorney at Waters Corporation.
Prior to moving in-house, Chris was an associate in the Intellectual Property group at Nutter McClennen and Fish LLP and a member of the firm’s Life Sciences practice. His practice focused on the prosecution of domestic and international patents in a variety of fields including medical instruments and devices, biotechnology, microfluidic applications, and various devices in the electrical and mechanical arts. Chris also provided strategic counsel to clients and manages patent portfolios for start-ups, mid-size businesses, large corporations, and academic institutions.
Chris’s professional career began at an intellectual property consulting firm where he led the Medical Devices Group. His work included analysis of competitor patent portfolios and products in support of litigation and due diligence projects. He also has considerable experience related to the development of I.P. portfolio strategies.
Chris’s consulting projects focused on minimally invasive medical devices, cardiac technologies, and vascular devices, and also included automotive technologies, heat exchangers, and other industrial technologies. Prior to joining Nutter, Chris was an intellectual property manager at Organogenesis Inc., a leading regenerative medicine company, where he helped develop the company’s intellectual property estate and assessed competitive and complementary technologies.
