Biography
Chris Lockwood is a partner in the Huntsville office of Womble Bond Dickinson and focuses his practice on government contracts and business litigation. He represents government contractors in litigation matters and provides general counsel in all aspects of procurement law, including bid protests, data rights, contract disputes, and regulatory matters.
Chris frequently handles bid protests before the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) and U.S. Court of Federal Claims, as well as size protests before the Small Business Administration and its Office of Hearings and Appeals. He counsels clients on regulatory matters, including corporate issues, compliance with small business regulations, joint ventures, novations, mentor/protégé issues, teaming agreements, subcontracts, and employment issues. Chris frequently advises clients on intellectual property matters, technical data, and software rights under the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
Chris has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America (BL Rankings) in Government Contract and selected to the Mid-South Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers (Thomson Reuters) since 2015. He is admitted in Alabama and Tennessee, as well as various federal courts, including all U.S. District Courts in Alabama and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Eleventh and Federal Circuits. He also frequently handles litigation cases in Madison County Circuit Court, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
In addition to his government contracts practice, Chris advises clients on intellectual property matters, including federal and state trademark registrations, trade secrets, licensing, and general business law.
Chris earned his undergraduate degree at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. He graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2009.
