Biography
Chris received his juris doctorate degree (JD) from the Seattle University School of Law (formerly the University of Puget Sound School of Law) in 1992. Prior to law school, Chris received a Bachelor of Arts Degree, cum laude, in Criminal Justice from Washington State University in 1984 where he was also recognized with national honors (Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi). From 1984 to 1988, Chris proudly served with distinction in the United States Army and served from 1988 until 2002 in the United States Army Reserves when he received an Honorable Discharge having attained the rank of Major, U.S. Army Reserves.
From 1994 to 2008, Chris served as prosecuting attorney for the cities of Battle Ground, Ridgefield, and La Center, Washington and has represented the City of Ridgefield, Washington as the City Attorney since 2007.
Chris is a member in good standing of the Clark County Bar Association, Washington State Bar Association, Washington Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the Washington Defender Association. Chris is also the past president for the Clark County Volunteer Lawyers Program Board of Directors where he was recognized as Volunteer of the Year in 2005 and served as a Clark County Bar Association Trustee from 2005 to 2008 where he was recognized with the Clark County Bar Association’s President’s Award for his efforts in revitalizing the County Bar Association’s continuing legal education program. Chris has also serves as Judge Pro Tempore in both Clark County Superior and District Courts. On a more personal level, he is very proud of his affiliation with and support of the following conservation agencies: Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Ducks Unlimited.
