Biography
Cliff Stern has been practicing law since 1987. His practice concentrates on the representation of clients who have sustained serious injuries in a variety of matters. He is a cum laude graduate of New York Law School. Upon graduation, he joined the largest national insurance defense firm in the country, where he defended a broad array of individuals, businesses and municipal governments in civil matters pending in state and federal court. He then joined the Cochran firm (formerly known as Schneider, Kleinick, Weitz and Damashek), where he practiced for over 12 years, eventually becoming a partner managing attorneys in the complex litigation, premises and municipal liability litigation groups. Over the years, Cliff has been responsible for obtaining multimillion-dollar results for his clients in hundreds of cases. He has been involved in the trial of cases involving catastrophic injury including paraplegia, quadriplegia, severe burns and traumatic brain injury. His practice continues to concentrate upon the representation of seriously injured people involved in a wide variety of matters including construction accidents, product liability, premises fire and explosion cases, medical malpractice and negligently designed and maintained premises. Cliff has also successfully represented clients in negligent security cases, motor vehicle accidents involving highway design issues, premises fires, Jones Act Cases involving merchant seamen and lawsuits against municipal and state governments, the MTA, NY Transit Authority and the NY State Thruway Authority.
Mr. Stern has lectured for American Trial Lawyers, The New York State Bar Association and The NYS Trial Lawyers Assn and has been selected as a member of Super Lawyers.
