Connie Broussard is a noted trial attorney. She started her career as a criminal prosecutor where she prosecuted both misdemeanor and felony trials. Her extensive criminal appellate practice included defending over 90 felony appeals in the Fifth District Court of Appeal, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal, the California Supreme Court, and opposing certiorari in the United States Supreme Court.  For nine years, Connie focused her practice on defending government agency employers in employment related litigation in both state and federal court and representing law enforcement officers in various matters. Connie also has experience trying administrative cases related to the discipline, suspension and revocation of professional licenses.

Connie enjoys teaching and has taught Criminal Law and Constitutional Law to paralegal students as well as teaching Minimum Continuing Education Classes to lawyers. Her passion is teaching and learning about the impact of implicit or unconscious bias in the workforce and on modern policing issues.

Connie grew up in Los Angeles and attended UCLA, Park College and Loyola Law School. She is now proud to call San Diego her home. Throughout her professional life, Connie has been involved in numerous community organizations, most of which focused on the advancement of youth or the legal profession. Most recently, she has been involved with the San Diego LEAD Impact Program, the San Diego County Bar Association and the Lawyers Club. Connie currently serves on the boards of the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Foundation, the California Association of Black Lawyers and the California State Bar Council on Access and Fairness.

In 2017, Connie was named one of the Top 100 Black Attorneys by the National Advocates.
