Dana’s approach to practicing law centers on helping his clients, and their families, through extremely difficult times in their lives by offering competent and trustworthy legal advice. Dana understands the emotional and financial strains that come with family law litigation. As such, he empathizes with his clients’ concerns and fears, while helping formulate strategies to accomplish their unique goals. Dana is encouraging of assisting his clients in reaching settling agreements to avoid the uncertainties that come with our legal system. However, Dana is also a strong advocate for his clients and will not hesitate to litigate a matter when necessary.

Dana handles a wide array of family law matters including: simple and complex/high net worth divorces, child custody/child support cases, CPS matters, collaborative divorce, domestic violence cases, enforcement actions, paternity suits, pre and postnuptial agreements, modification actions, restraining and protective orders, same-sex divorce, and termination/adoption suits. Dana has also represented several professional athletes in divorce and child custody matters. Additionally, Dana serves as an Amicus Attorney, appointed by judges and other family law attorneys, to assist courts with protecting the best interests of children.

Dana is a member of the Collin County Bar Association and The College of the State Bar of Texas. Dana is also a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation (Texas Bar Foundation Fellows are selected based on an outstanding record of professional achievements and commitment to support the community at large. Less than 1 percent of all Texas attorneys are nominated each year). In the past, Dana served three terms as Vice President of the Collin County Young Lawyers Association. During his time with Collin County Young Lawyers, Dana ran the judicial internship program, which provides internships for law students with the Collin County District Court Judges. In 2014, Dana was presented with the “Attorney of the Year” award for the 2013 – 2014 term by the Collin County Young Lawyers Association. In 2014, Dana was featured on an episode of MTV’s True Life documentary series which focused on parental rights.

Dana has served on the Board of Directors of the Collin County Bench Bar Foundation, a non-profit organization responsible for planning and hosting an annual legal educational seminar for judges and attorneys in Collin County. Additionally, he has volunteered both his time and expertise to Legal Aid of Northwest Texas. Dana has also served as a mentor in the Frisco I.S.D. Independent Study and Mentorship Program, wherein he helped high school students interested in pursuing legal careers gain a better understanding of what it’s like to be an attorney. In the past, Dana has been a volunteer for the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure and at The Family Place.

Dana is an exercise enthusiast and enjoys finding new ways to push himself physically and mentally. In the past, Dana was the former trainer for the Dallas Vigilantes Dancers (arena league football). He has undergone Navy SEAL training for civilians in Chesapeake, Virginia and competed in ultra-marathon distance obstacle course races like the World’s Toughest Mudder. Dana is certified by the Krav Maga Association of America and Krav Maga Worldwide as an instructor and he teaches classes weekly in Plano (Krav Maga is a self-defense system developed for the Israel Defense Forces). In addition to being a Krav Maga practitioner, Dana also enjoys training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Dana is a father and enjoys spending his down time with his family and friends.
