As national trial counsel, Daniel P. Dalton concentrates his practice in land use and zoning law.  He frequently litigates, lectures and writes on issues related to the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA) and other land use and zoning matters throughout the United States.

 

To date, Mr. Dalton has secured the largest settlements in religious land use matters in the States of Texas, Michigan and Illinios.

Mr. Dalton received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Michigan University in 1986, his law degree from the University of Detroit, School of Law in 1990 and is a graduate of Class XVI of the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Detroit program. He was admitted to practice in the State of Michigan in 1990; the Federal District Court, Eastern District of Michigan in 1992; the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in 1994, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court in 1995. He is also admitted in the Western District of Michigan, the Western District of Texas, the Central District of Illinois, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the Southern District of California, the Southern District of Mississippi, the Central District of California, the Middle District of Florida, the District of Colorado and New Jersey.
