Biography
Darren advises individuals and businesses on issues involving complex business disputes and media law issues, and represents their interests in litigation before state and federal courts, and in alternative dispute resolution matters. He emphasizes strategic planning around concrete objectives, while simultaneously promoting efficiency and process transparency during execution.
Darren has advised and represented clients in a variety of disputes involving fraud, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, misappropriation of trade secrets, professional negligence, unjust enrichment, undue influence, will contests, consumer protection law violations, trademark registration, quiet title, slander of title, wrongful eviction, conversion, products liability, among others. He also regularly represents media clients in government open records/First Amendment litigation, and defamation litigation. He has experience dealing with, and cross-examining expert witnesses in a variety of fields, including accountancy, corporate tax shelters, business and asset valuation, casino gaming, consumer surveys, and corporate fiduciary standards.
Prior to entering practice Darren worked in the retail financial services industry for two large commercial banks. In addition to his financial services industry experience, Darren has a background in the creative arts, having received a degree in music composition from the University of Southern California.
Darren received his Juris Doctor magna cum laude from the University of Cincinnati College of Law, and graduated Order of the Coif (top 10%). He is a member of the Potter Stewart American Inn of Court, the Cincinnati Bar Association, and is on the board of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky chapter of the Federal Bar Association. Darren is admitted to practice before state and federal courts in Ohio and Kentucky.
