I spent nine years as a Superior Court prosecutor working with victims of crime to help them get through the criminal justice system.  I was also fortunate to be a member of the county Drug Court program that offered defendants a chance to rehabilitate themselves in the community rather than serve a prison sentence.  I handled each case with an understanding that every person has their own individual struggles and challenges to overcome.  I learned that you need to listen to people in order to be able to help them.
