Successfully navigating people through one of the most difficult times in their lives does not happen by luck or happenstance. It requires careful listening, attention to detail, having an open mind, creativity, thoroughness, deliberate decision making and skillful execution of a plan tailored to each unique circumstance. From growing up in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, I know what it’s like to be perceived as an underdog. I learned that the quickest way to dispel that perception is consistent hard work and preparation. I studied criminal justice at the University of St. Thomas and graduated cum laude in 2008. During my time at UST I played on the baseball team and interned with a respected criminal defense attorney who is now a district court judge.  After UST, I moved up Summit Avenue to William Mitchell College of Law. I attended courses in the evening, with an emphasis on criminal law, and clerked at a criminal defense law firm in Minneapolis during the day. I graduated magna cum laude in 2012 and was recognized for the best performance on exams in several courses, including white collar crime. I am admitted to practice with the Minnesota State Bar and United States District Court – District of Minnesota.

Since admission to the bar, I have defended clients against a full spectrum of criminal charges. From DWI to homicide, there is not a case too small or too big.
