Ms. Dunlap is a 1981 graduate of the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work. She obtained her J.D. from the University of Puget Sound School of Law (now Seattle University), graduating in December 1984. Ms. Dunlap is a past officer of the King County Young Lawyers Association and a committee member and co-chair of its Trial Practice Group. Ms. Dunlap's practice is in personal injury losses with a focus on motor vehicle collisions involving minor to catastrophic personal injuries and wrongful death.  She also handles other injury losses, insurance coverage and bad faith, and private defense. Ms. Dunlap is AV rated in the Martindale-Hubbell Attorneys Directory and has litigated in both state and federal courts throughout western  and eastern Washington and has appeared before appellate courts, including Division I and II of the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Washington.
