Douglas Griess is a business attorney in Denver, Colorado where he is a partner at Hackstaff Snow Atkinson & Griess, LLC. Mr. Griess received his J.D. from the University of Virginia in 2003 and began his career in litigation representing both plaintiffs and defendants in the areas of insurance defense and bad faith, personal injury, commercial disputes, and construction. Mr. Griess started The Griess Law Firm, LLC at the end of 2010 to focus on building his business practice. After 5 years on his own, Doug joined Hackstaff Snow Atkinson & Griess, LLC in January 2016. Today, Mr. Griess practice includes business law, tax, merges and acquisitions, commercial transactions, exit and succession planning, estate planning, and trademarks.

Since 2015, Mr. Griess has been a regular national instructor for attorneys and other professionals on LLC and estate planning topics facilitated by the National Business Institute. The courses have included LLCs from Start to Finish, Using Trusts and LLCs together in Estate Planning, Top Uses of LLCs in Asset Protection and LLC Indemnification. In addition to teaching, Mr. Griess legal activities include volunteering at local Legal Aid Clinics, a few pro bono cases with the Justice and Mercy Legal Aid Center (JAMLAC), board member with JAMLAC, and being an allied attorney with Alliance Defending Freedom.

Mr. Griess is admitted to Colorado, Wyoming, and the Tenth Circuit and is a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations, as well as the Christian Legal Society.

He and his wife have six awesome kids.
