Biography
After receiving his B.A. from NC State, Duane attended Florida State University, where he received his Juris Doctorate. Duane also studied law at Oxford University, England.
After law school Duane took a position as a public defender with Florida’s 15th Judicial Circuit. He began his legal career writing appeals and then went on to represent over two thousand indigent clients in the courtroom.
Today Duane's law practice located at 213 E. Lane Street, focuses primarily on Real Estate law. He has assisted thousands of clients with real estate transactions throughout central North Carolina.
Elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives in 2012, Duane served three terms in the North Carolina Legislature. During his final term endending in 2019, Duane served as Vice-Chair of Judiciary. Duane is the former Chairman of North Carolina's Courts Commission and currently sits on Raleigh's Human Relations Commission.
