Biography
Dylan is an associate on Jeff Eberhard’s team focusing on automobile liability, catastrophic injury, commercial litigation, dram shop, and premises liability.
Before joining Smith Freed Eberhard, Dylan worked for a solo practitioner in Portland. He assisted with motions practice and litigation preparation, including drafting interrogatories, responses to interrogatories, unfair trade practices complaints, and motions for provisional process.
During law school, Dylan pursued his interest in civil litigation at the Oregon Department of Justice and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon. At ODOJ, he was heavily involved with employment and prisoner litigation, including working on a trial team for a multi-million dollar whistleblowing case and successfully defending against a four-figure negligence claim in small claims court. At the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he managed the Central Violations Bureau misdemeanor docket by negotiating plea agreements, appearing in federal magistrate court, and representing the United States in bench trials. Dylan also assisted appellate, criminal, and civil division Assistant United States Attorneys with procedural issues, Fourth Amendment searches, employment law, environmental regulation, tax law, and ethics matters.
