Biography

Emilia is member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, and the North Carolina Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia (2008), Louisiana (2010), and North Carolina (2014).

She serves on the Board of Directors of the Duke University Law Alumni Association (2015-2018) and been a featured speaker on panels at the Duke Law School. She has written for the North Carolina Bar Journal (Spring 2010) and been a contributor to David Ball on Criminal Defense (2015).

In addition, she has supervised and trained public defenders trying felonies in New Orleans, LA and spoken at continuing legal education seminars on Criminal Defense for the Eastern District of NC Federal Defenders and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice.
