Biography
Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Emilie is a graduate of University of Denver (B.A. 09) and Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law (J.D. 12). She graduated with a Certificate of Advanced Legal Writing, Research and Drafting from Mercer’s renowned legal writing program, was the 2011 recipient of the Laura Gardner Webster Client Counseling Award, and served as the Mercer Advocacy Council Vice Chair of Client Counseling and Negotiations.
Emilie moved to Milledgeville in 2014 where she was of Counsel with the law firm of Cansino, Petty & Stribling, LLP before becoming partner in the law firm of Cansino, Stribling & Cook, LLP in 2016. In 2018, Emilie left Cansino, Stribling & Cook, LLP and opened Cook Law Office, LLC in downtwon Milledgeville, Georgia. Cook Law Office, LLC specializes in Dependency, Probate and Wills & Estates. Prior to entering private practice, Emilie gained in-depth experience in a broad array of practice areas while serving as Judicial Intern for Chief Justice Juan Ramirez of the Florida Third District Court of Appeals, Law Clerk for Judge Jason E. Ashford of Houston County State Court, and Judicial Staff Attorney for Honorable H. Frederick Mullis, Jr. of the Oconee Judicial Circuit.
