But, in critical times of uncertainty, I take pride in the unwavering support, commitment, and the results we deliver for our clients."Attorney Erika A. Riggs graduated from Wayne State University where she earned her bachelor’s and law degree. During law school, Erika served as a senior note and comment editor of the Wayne Law Review, property law teaching assistant, and small claims court mediator.
She also founded The 313 Project, a non-profit dedicated to public service, mentorship, and scholarships for our at risk youths. She has strictly dedicated her practice to helping the disabled obtain their disability benefits her entire career. She specializes in representing disabled individuals before both the Social Security Administration and Department of Veterans Affairs. She is also certified to handle cases at the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District.
Mrs. Riggs is a partner at Disability Law Group with one clear and critical mission: Every Client Matters. Erika's passion and commitment to underserved populations is as notable as her skilled and unique legal arguments. She can regularly be found volunteering her time supporting local non-profits by rolling-up her sleeves planting trees and clearing dilapidated buildings in Detroit, speaking at local schools or medical facilities on new laws and our rights, or providing pro-bono legal advice to those in need.
Erika is conversational in Spanish and her office is known as the chocolate factory which she takes quite seriously, and in her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family – traveling, hiking, painting, and pretending she can bake.
