Biography
Garrett Chase is an attorney in the Las Vegas area experienced in real property and lien litigation, contract disputes, commercial litigation, and appellate advocacy. Garrett grew up in Montana, did his undergraduate studies in Seattle, and came to Vegas to work at a small software company. Garrett's background in engineering and physics give him a unique perspective on problem-solving. Before becoming an attorney, Garrett worked in the software industry in a variety of roles, including projects for Microsoft and Google. Through these experiences, Garrett honed his organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and verbal and written communication skills before even attending law school.
During his time at the UNLV-Boyd School of Law, Garrett excelled at trial advocacy, legal writing, and negotiation/mediation courses. Garrett's work landed him on the UNLV moot court team, where he received awards for written and oral advocacy in local competitions, where Garrett was awarded Best Oral Advocate, as well as the national Duberstein moot court competition, the largest single-facility moot court competition in the country, where Garrett and his teammates took 2nd place out of 60 teams and received an award for Outstanding Appellate Brief. Garrett also received a CALI award for excellence in Boyd's Opening Statements and Closing Arguments course. Outside of class, Garrett participated in community service organizations and was awarded the Outstanding Community Service Student Award for his work in the Guardianship community law class. Garrett also participated in other organizations, including the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, in which Garrett served as the Secretary. At the end of Garrett's time in law school, he interned with the Clark County District Attorney's Office, where he had the opportunity to advocate at sentencing and preliminary hearings.
Garrett authored a historical article about the Black Lives Matter Movement that was published in the Nevada Law Journal and has been cited by various authorities. Garrett also was selected to appear on EmotionTrac's podcast, Latte with a Lawyer to highlight is professional background and practice. When Garrett isn't in the courtroom or his Las Vegas office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, adventuring, and watching movies.
