Biography
Giovanna (“Gia”) A. Abreu, is a litigation associate at Archer Bay’s Miami office. Her practice is focused on commercial and insurance litigation, in both federal and state courts.
Ms. Abreu has a background in estate, trust and guardianship litigation and administration. She has counseled personal representatives, corporate and individual trustees, professional and non-professional guardians, beneficiaries, and heirs in contested and non-contested probate matters.
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Ms. Abreu moved to Miami to pursue a B.A. in International Relations at Florida International University. Ms. Abreu received her J.D. from Florida International University College of Law, where she was on the Dean’s List and earned the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Legal Research and Writing. While at FIU Law, she worked as a Graduate Assistant to Dr. Stanley Fish—New York Times Columnist and Davidson-Kahn Distinguished Professor of Law and Humanities—and she clerked for the Honorable Arthur L. Rothenberg, Circuit Court Judge in the Probate Division of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Miami-Dade, Florida.
Ms. Abreu is fluent in Spanish and is actively involved in legal professional organizations.
