Contrary to the usual pattern, I started out doing complex litigation, including class actions.  Only later did I start doing personal injury and criminal defense.  I guess I like representing individuals who are actually involved in their cases, who need help.  I got into DUI defense after a DA friend of mine remarked that DUI is one of the areas of criminal law that can be the most interesting, given the technical complexity that has come to attend what is otherwise usually a simple misdemeanor.  I decided he was right.
