I graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1974 with a BS in Applied Biology.  After graduation, I worked for the Cobb Country Water and Sewer Department managing a labortory and establishing a stream survialence program throughout the Country.  In 1976 I was hired by Georgia Power company and enrolled in the Woodrow Wilson College of Law and graduate will a legal degree in 1980.  While at Georgia Power I spent 32 years working in the environmental, health and safety arena.  My first 10 years were in Envirnmental Affairs implementing the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and CERCLA.  The next 11 years were spent in the area of industrial hygiene and implementation of the then new Asbestos, Hazardous Communication Rules, Arsenic, Lead, Chrominum, just to name a few.  The last 11 years were spent in the Safety arena.  During this period, I represented Georgia Power and Southern Company on numberous ANSI and ASTM national standards setting committees, Edison Electric Institue, Southeastern Electric Exchange, American Industrial Health Association, American Society of Safety Engineers, and Georgia Section of the American Society of Safety Engineers.  I was responsible for handle all OSHA visits to Georgia Power facilities, communications with OSHA concerning these visits, negoiating any citations issued pursuent to a OSHA visit and accident investigations.  Retired in 2008 and established The Hobbs Law Firm with an eye toward continuing my practice in the OSHA and regulatory arena, but also practicing in the areas of contracts/agreements, contract litigation, wills, trust, medical directives, probate, powers of attorney, trust and codicils and amendments to wills and trust.
