Just a few months after becoming a lawyer, I was thrust into a high profile injury case stemming from a pedestrian bridge collapse at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte. NC.  I had barely gotten my feet wet before I was on the trial team gearing up to try the first case against Lowe's Motor Speedway and the company that built the bridge.  That trial lasted nearly 9 weeks in Charlotte.  Although it was a difficult time, being away from home and working 16-18 hour days for several weeks, I gained a wealth of experience for someone so new to the practice of law.  Most importantly, our hard work paid off and the jury awarded a deserving family over $4 million for their catastrophic injuries. 

Of our three branches of government, the judiciary is the only branch where individuals can be on a level playing field with large corporations.  Although our judicial system has had its ups and downs, without it our clients would never be able to hold corporations accountable for their actions.
