Helana attended the University of Miami, where she graduated magna cum laude with a B.B.A degree in finance. She then attended the University of Miami School of Law from where she graduated summa cum laude. When at the University of Miami School of Law, Helana served as an Associate Editor for the University of Miami Inter-American Law Review. Prior to starting her firm, Helana worked as an associate at a national labor and employment firm where she represented employers of all sizes in various labor and employment matters. Helana also served as a fellow for the Florida Office of the Attorney General, Economic Crimes Division.  Helana holds an active real estate license with Terrabella Realty in North Miami Beach.

At the Law Offices of Helana Balkin, P.A., Helana focuses on representing clients, both employers and employees, in a variety of employment law matters, advises corporate clients, practices contract law, and engages in real estate law.

At home, Helana can be found cooking, exercising, or planning her next trip to Argentina, where her husband is from.
