Jake began his legal career working in Workers’ Compensation Defense, where he learned the ins and outs of insurance companies and the field of workers’ compensation. He went on to develop his courtroom and litigation skills as a Public Defender in Sumter County. Since his work as a Public Defender, he has been working in private practice primarily representing injured workers and those charged with crimes throughout South Carolina.

Jake has been married to his wife Lauren, who works as the Associate Director of International Student Services at the University of South Carolina, for four years. Together they have one beautiful daughter, Eleanor Hope. Jake and his family are proud residents of Lexington, South Carolina.
