Jim is both business lawyer and trusted advisor to his clients.  Whether untangling day-to-day issues that can confound business owners or realizing long term client strategies involving the purchase or sale of a business or real estate, Jim always strives to give the best service possible to his clients.  Manufacturers, distributors, construction companies, home builders, publishers, professional service companies, real estate investors, and even other law firms are among the businesses’ that count-on Jim’s expertise, integrity, responsiveness and sense of humor to help them advance their goals. 

A graduate of Leadership Denver, Jim is a continuing proponent of that program’s fostering of community stewardship.  He is President of the Board of the internationally acclaimed Colorado Children’s Chorale and finds its emphasis on excellence and community building a great match to his professional life.  A member of Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church, Jim serves and has served his church in numerous capacities, including, leading its Pastor Nominating Committee.  Other leadership roles for Jim have included service to: Kempe Children’s Foundation, The Children’s Hospital Foundation, Stanley British Primary School, National Association of Industrial & Office Properties, Washington Park Early Learning Center, and Boy Scouts of America. 

A member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations, Jim is an inaugural member of the Colorado Bar’s post-9/11 Disaster Response Team and has served in the rewriting of Colorado’s Corporate Code.

Jim’s daughters, Genevieve and Olivia, are the center of Jim’s personal time.  In addition, Jim enjoys cooking, camping, skiing, and bicycling, especially tandem cycling with his wife, Candace Wolhart.
