Biography
James C. Willett, Jr. is an Associate in the Firm’s Workers’ Compensation and Employers’ Liability Practice Group. He has tried countless cases before the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission, the Maryland Circuit Courts, and the District of Columbia Department of Employment Services Office of Workers’ Compensation and Administrative Hearings Division.
Mr. Willett received his bachelor’s degree in Economics and a minor in Writing from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 2005. He earned his juris doctorate from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2008. While in law school, Mr. Willett had the honor of serving as the Business Editor of the University of Baltimore Law Review. He also was a member of the National Family Law Moot Court Team. Mr. Willett also had the privilege of serving as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Lynne A. Battaglia of the Maryland Court of Appeals during his time in law school.
Prior to joining Semmes, Bowen & Semmes, Mr. Willett served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Audrey J.S. Carrion of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City and spent four years practicing workers’ compensation defense at a Baltimore area law firm.
Mr. Willett was selected as a Maryland “Rising Star” by Baltimore Magazine & Maryland Super Lawyers Magazine for 2015-2016.
