I obtained my undergraduate degree from Baylor University, graduating cum laude, and furthered my legal education at the University of Tulsa College of Law in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Upon graduating I served as an Assistant District Attorney with the Smith County District Attorney's Office in Tyler, Texas and later took the position of Criminal Defense Attorney for a large criminal defense firm in Houston, Texas for nearly a decade.
