James J. McHugh, Jr. has been selected by judges and other attorneys as a Pennsylvania “Super Lawyer” in for the last 9 years, New Jersey Super Lawyer in 2006, Philadelphia Magazine’s Top 100 Attorney in PA in 2005, 2007, 2010 and 2013, Top 100 Attorney in Philadelphia 2007, 2010, 2012 and 2013, American Trial Lawyers Association’s Top 100 Trial Lawyer in PA and NJ for the last 5 years, South Jersey Magazine’s Awesome Attorney in 2007, and has been selected Top 100 Litigation Lawyers in both PA and NJ in 2013.  In addition to these honors, Jim McHugh maintains an A-V Martindale-Hubbell rating- the highest rating available for both professional competence and ethical integrity, and is featured in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.

The honors and awards Jim has received modestly reflect his commitment to the legal profession and zealous representation of his clients.  He has scored many triumphs throughout his many years of practice, which primarily focuses on mass tort litigation, medical malpractice, personal injury, construction litigation, products liability, defamation, and civil rights. 

After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University, Jim graduated magna cum laude from Villanova University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. Jim authored an article and assisted in editing numerous other articles published in the Villanova Law Review. He has also served on the Advisory Committee for the Penn Public Service Program at the University of Pennsylvania School of Law.

As a legal professional, Mr. McHugh has lectured around the country to groups including lawyers, doctors and various unions.  He has lectured at AAJ (Formerly ATLA) national and regional legal seminars, schools and was a presenter during the first live national mass tort internet seminar.  Mr. McHugh is a frequent commentator who has been consulted by international and national media leaders including CNN, the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times.
