I have been practicing law since 1993 and have significant experience in business, real estate and family law.  I have been involved in a variety of major business transactions and, as a result, have a broad basis of knowledge and expertise in numerous areas of the law.  I have significant experience in dealing with corporations and corporate restructuring.  A number of my family law clients have benefitted from my business background during their divorce especially with regard to their business holdings and investments.

I am in recovery and that is a significant part of my life and my practice.  As part of the process of recovery but as the result of my past alcohol abuse, I have been subject to a reprimand by the Kentucky Bar Association.  Rather than being embarassed by this fact, I embrace it and am dedicated to staying sober and help others achieve sobriety. I am active in the Kentucky Lawyers Assistance Program whereby lawyers help other lawyers dealing with alcohol or substance abuse issues and other programs dealing with addiction and recovery.

I also serve on the Board of The Morton Center in Louisville, Kentucky.  This unique institution supports a 12-step model of recovery and uses evidence-based practices to treat individuals, couples and families.  It also partners with the Kentucky Bar Association to offer treatment to attorneys with chemical dependency problems. 

In addition, I am sensitive to the needs of others dealing with alcohol or other issues and can provide valuable insight to those dealing with addiction or in relationships with people in addiction.
