JAMES NOBLES was born and raised in Conesus, New York. He knew from an early age that he wanted to be a trial lawyer fighting for people's rights. He is happiest when he is sinking his teeth into a high-profile, complex and serious case that will likely go to trial.

Mr. Nobles attended Genesee Community College and graduated from Nazareth College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He then graduated Cum Laude from New York Law School and went on to receive an LLM in Criminal Law, with Honors, from University of Buffalo Law School. Mr. Nobles is believed to be the only criminal defense lawyer with this advanced law degree practicing in Rochester.

As an Assistant District Attorney in Monroe County, Mr. Nobles handled hundreds of criminal cases. Two highlights of his career as a prosecutor were an undefeated jury trial record and a unanimous guilty verdict on the top charge in seven minutes (believed to be an office best at the time). 

Since leaving the D.A.'s office, Mr. Nobles has handled all levels of criminal cases, from violations and DWI to guns, drugs, as well as numerous homicides. Mr. Nobles' legal achievements have been noted by the industry. In 2007, he was named one of Rochester's Emerging Bar Leaders and in 2008, he was awarded the Up & Coming Attorney award. In 2015, 2016, and 2017 Mr. Nobles was named a Top 100 Criminal Trial Lawyer in New York.

In 2015, Mr. Nobles and Mr. DeCarolis became partners in the Nobles & DeCarolis law firm to better serve their clients both individually and, when requested, as a team. Together they have successfully handled some of the most notorious and publicized local cases in recent years. In 2016, Nobles & DeCarolis added personal injury cases to their practice, taking their trial experience and skills to civil court to fight for the injured and their families.
